Duncan L. Hamilton is a Consultant in Anaesthesia and Acute Pain Medicine at James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough and Visiting Professor at the University of Sunderland School of Medicine. He has a special interest in Regional Anaesthesia. He has previously held appointments as a Consultant in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine at County Durham & Darlington NHS Foundation Trust, and as a Visiting Professor in Anesthesiology at Washington University in St Louis. He is an examiner for the final Fellowship of the Royal College of Anaesthetists and »Æ¹Ïapp Diploma in Anesthesiology and Intensive Care.  He is associate Editor-in Chief of the journal BJA Education.
